'Empire Building'
This is a very brief guide to VCS' most anticipated feature, Empire Building (i.e. building an empire), but it will be overwritten with a fully fledged walk-through in the future.
You must take over and maintain all 30 Empire sites in Vice City; 14 can be found on the Mainland and the other 16 on the Beach island. These sites can be owned by two gangs other than yours (Vance); the Bikers and the Sharks. You will be introduced to Empire Building in stages throughout the game. Your first glimpse is thanks to Marty J, who shows you Protection Rackets in the mission 'Shakedown', but the mission 'To Victor, the Spoils' is the best to acquaint you with information.
To trigger an attack on a site, you have to destroy the vehicle (with a large red arrow above it) outside the building. During this attack you must kill all of the guards on site. The larger the scale of the businesses you are trying to take over, the more challenging it will be. When you have killed every guard outside of the property, you will have to go inside and kill the remaining guards and finally, the property assets. When the attack is passed press UP next to the property sign and purchase the site. You may recruit members of your gang to help you take over a business, by targeting them using R/R1 and then tapping UP
Another requirement for 100% is to earn full respect in each type of business. To do this, you must complete jobs for them by pressing UP when next to a certain gang member inside the site. The job structure is as follows:
