July 4th, 2010 – Strong start to the season continues.

      Our positive start to the 2010 season continues in both the Wednesday and Saturday leagues. We are top of the E.V.B.A. league table, as it currently stands (although there are a few teams with games in hand on us) and also near the top of the M.B.A Division 3 table. [See Fixtures & Results section for more information]. There is a confident and upbeat atmosphere at the club at the moment. This weekend's M.B.A. game, away against Bedwellty Park, in Tredegar, was another important fixture and the confidence payed off. We sealed a 12-2 victory, on what was a very close game to begin with. After tea (which was a lovely roast dinner with cheesecake dessert!), John Gray and Ian Hier's rinks secured comfortable wins. Barry Smith's rink managed to edge a win, but it came down to the final bowl in a dramatic final end in which Barry was able to slice the jack towards our waiting bowls, and ended up picking up the four shots that his rink needed to win the game after entering the final end three shots down! Would you believe it! Unfortunately, Jason Power's rink were unable to help us gain maximum points, but well done to everyone who played on such an enjoyable afternoon with good company.

         July 4th, 2010 – New Club T-shirts, Jackets ordered.  

      Club Captain, Jason Power, has informed players that we will soon be having brand new club  
t-shirts and jackets (and also new stickers) which MUST be worn for Saturday league matches. The new kit will be provided courtesy of club sponsor, Mr Richard Freeman, of company Floorwize.
